Dual Citizen's Wife

I am marrying a man who is a dual citizen of Germany and moving there with him. What kind of documentation do I need so I can stay with him. Do I need proof that I will be employed or become a student there? I read on this forum that students, even foreign, have free tuition to the university system. Is this true, even with the collapse of the social programs occurring in the EU at this point? If I need to prove that I am employed what kind of employment will suffice?
