Position in Chennai

Guys,

I have a offer from my company In north America to go to Chennai for a Joint Venture in a higher management position. I am trying to determine what is a fair salary. Not sure if they will be able to give me an expat package since I might be employed by the Indian counterpart of the JV. What would be a good package? Any ideas? Anything else to be considered besides salary? How are housing costs in chennai?
