Texas, USA moving to Pune

My husband is considering taking a job in Pune, India. I am looking for contacts in Pune to educate me on the experience of living there.
We are in our early 50's and would take this job for two years max. I will be sad to leave my cats behind (sis will care for them), my job of 25yrs while open to the adventure & education of this culture. I am considering I could take up yoga/meditation, (what better place?) learn aruvedic medicine, and what else?
I know I will be moving out of my 'comfort zone' but will capture an experience of a life time.
