preparing to move to india in november

Hi all

i am wanting to move to india in November 2009 adn want to volunteer at an ngo and look to advancing my career in community development. I havea degree and office experience and have volunteered in the uk PT. Do you have any advice on where best I can get volunteering oppurtunities and not be part of the tourism trade? also would it be easy for me to get a paid job?
