GALWAY MOVE!

hi all, we're moving to Galway and need advice. we DO NOT DRIVE! we need to find property to rent within walking or commuting distance to Galway city centre. we also have a Daughter so need to look at schools.
is there a ferry that runs for work from the islands and where would you advise us that has train station nearby to get into the city or a 20 minute walk/bus?

we also need recommendations on schools for age 10. our child is very creative, very sensitive and we want a creative school like Steiner or equivalent.
