Trip to Rome

Hi everybody,

We are two ukrainian canadians that would like to visit Rome as a touists in July.
And we are looking for affordable accomodation (motel/hotel) to stay; it'd be great if it's not far from attractions.
Could you help us with info on places to check? Those on-line are just way too expensive. And any trip advise is also appreciated.
