I need help applying for obtaining a Nulla osta

I am planning to move to Italy in November. I will continue to work for my US company as a remote employee. When I went to apply for my VISA they instructed that I first must obtain a Nulla Osta. I have been to the Questura di Roma website and don't see any direction. Please help!

I did not know that I would need this since I will be working for my company only as a remote employee. All of the work that I will be doing will be in the US to begin with, but hope to generate some consultant business after acclimating.

I was told that this is very difficult at the Italian embassy. Please help!!
