Eight Day Trip

I know its crazy. But we only have 8 days this time. Flying into Rome, out of Venice. Looking for ideas on a whirlwind trip to take in as much as possible. Some thoughts are, Rome 2 nights, Naples 1, Tuscany/Puglia 2, Florence 1, Venice 1. We are looking at a first taste, and then will return another time to investigate retirement options. I can do without Florence this time. my wife wants to see the "Amalfi Coast".
