Virtual Private Network

I need VPN to access geo-blocked sites. I have Overplay DNS to access entertainment sites like PBS and Netflix in the US and it works well; but I couldn't download Overplay VPN for some reason (error messages and no solution from tech support). So, is anyone using VPN that works well and downloads easily without needing a computer degree? With VPN I'll be able to access sites that are geo-blocked by virtue of having my ISP masked so as not to reveal my Italian location. This is all new to me and I'm not tech-savvy, but need drives my interest.
