Visiting Taormina

With the idea of possible viewing some properties and having a holiday my friend and I are visiting Taormina 19 -26 August/16.

Any information would be appreciated, more convenient places to stay for the week, what to to do and also best places to live,

Also wondering if some one would let two rooms for the week. We are early 40s and mid 50s
