As a Canadian foreigner moving to Rome, what is the best method for finding a job when I'm in Italy?

I know it is much easier for an employer to hire an Italian citizen and that may come into play, which is totally fine.

Should I just put out as many resumes as possible relating to my area of expertise? Does anyone happen to know if there is a community system for new workers, or employers willing to go through the process of hiring foreign workers?

Thanks!
