Long Term Car Rental

Does anyone know where we can rent a car for 1-3 months? Or, if necessary, we would even do a 36-month lease. We understand that we cannot purchase a car until we have our residency, but we will need one during our stays. I've checked with all the regular car rental agencies and haven't found any long-term discounts. There are a few programs available in Italy and Europe, but I can't find anything in Sicily.
Surely there must be other folks like us who have purchased a property and need a car before gaining residency.
