Mask wearing?

Would love to hear about people travelling to Italy from the U.S. and how they dealt with the pressures of Covid. I am ready to board a plane today but my husband is hesitant.
We are both seniors, extremely healthy and have all our shots so I feel OK and well protected and wear a mask often. So, do Italians
wear their masks in stores? On the streets? In church?
Did you contract Covid after your visit?
