Hi,
My wife and I would love to know a half dozen everyday living DOs and DON’Ts in Lecce, Bologna and Naples, but especially Lecce, our first stop next year in our nine month sabbatical.
We are moving to Lecce for two months starting in April before heading to those other cities. My wife is a French citizen so I assume we will have no trouble with any bureaucratic nonsense.
More specific questions…
1. Which are best real estate sites to find apartments in the city center to rent?
2. How soon do we need to book an apartment?
3. Any advice on Italian lessons, cooking lessons, anything about the university there, classes to attend and pretend I understand, or the journalist community there (I’m a journalist and looking for a foothold into the local population, a way to slip in deep, or try at least)?
2. Has anyone brought their pets with them, and how feasible is that? We have a beautiful, mean cat that no one likes, and not even our daughter can be bribed to take her .
Sorry if the answers have already been posted elsewhere.
The plan is to nothing but cook, eat, take cooking lessons to do that better, talk, hopefully in Italian, take Italian lessons to do that better, read, and generally enjoy myself.
Very grateful for any advice.
