Crime and cultural enrichment

I've been considering moving to Italy and retiring there, however I'm concerned about the crime there. There's a story with concerning video about Milan on the gateway pundit about the influx of migrants and assaults on women.

Safety is key. Is crime a problem in all of the major cities? I'm looking at Bologna and Florence in particular.
