Travel insurance

My wife and I are US citizens and have lived in Italy for three years. We will be returning to the United States for a visit in July. (We will be traveling first to England.) We are enrolled in the Italian healthcare system, and are covered by basic Medicare in the United States. I am wondering whether we should get supplementary coverage for the travel period. I would appreciate any advice others might provide.
