Nice places to go out?

Hi,

We are two girls (under 26's) looking for a nice place to go out drinking on the weekends. Any suggestions? We just moved here so are not too sure what's on offer. We had a rather unsuccessful night last Saturday going to Mad Murphys (it was a little dead inside - maybe we went too early). Any tips on local or expaty place would be great appreciated
