Kids' reading needs

Hi All
We are moving to Kuwait from the US with two kids who are "addicted" to reading; they won't go to bed without reading books or having books read to them. Since we cannot ship all the books they will need, I was wondering if there is a library or something that we could have access to. Or, do people have a reading group where they loan and borrow kids' books from one anolther.
I will really appreciate any ideas you guys might have.
