Driving in Kuwait

Further to Anwerrr's comments to Lady AlSalem about people in kuwait driving like animals. Firstly, this is a rather amusing statement to make in the first place since animals don't drive, but perhaps we all get the gist of what she is saying.

Can anyone explain why the driving is so bad in Kuwait and why there are so many fatalities - apart from the obvious of course? i.e driving too fast, or weaving in and out of traffic as if there was somewhere special to go.

When I first arrived in Kuwait 18 months ago it took me 3 months to get behind the wheel, and I've been driving for 20 years!
