PRESCRIPTIONS IN PANAMA

Canadian on multiple prescriptions and I have been researching their prices in Chiriqui, Panama. This $650 monthly cost is the only thing keeping us from making the move at this point as prescriptions are heavily subsidized when you reach 60 in many provinces in Canada. I have read that the PANAMA government has a push to reduce prescription costs on 100 common drugs. Anyone able to comment how they deal with these recurring costs?
