Lakeside village

I would like to visit in October 2024 to see if there is a quiet lakeside town where I could live modestly and slowly see if I could find a life in Moldova. I am planning a more extensive trip for summer 2024. I’m retired and fairly private. I have a doctors degree and like to study the world around me. A resident of Hawaii and would like to spend most of the year in Moldova, complying with 90 day/180 day requirements. Is there a place I should go to begin my search to live long term in Moldova?
