Scouting trip

I am planning a trip to Belize in June this summer to begin scouting for a place to move in retirement in 2016. Which cities can someone recommend for a 2 - 3 week visit so I can get a good idea of where I might want to live, the housing that is available and the different amenities (restaurants, grocery stores, internet???, etc.)
