Pakistan: travel advice request

I am due to go to Karachi and Lahore with two colleagues on a work trip next month. Can anyone advise on security issues in these two towns -- any special precautions we should take? Also, we shall be in Lahore on a Friday -- is there any possibility to have meetings on that day (and if so, what time of day is possible) or should we not expect to be able to do so?
