Islamabad advice needed

I will soon be working in Islamabad. My work schedule will be 60 days at a time in Islamabad. I will be living in a "guest house" in G6. This will be my first visit to Pakistan and I would like advise that will help me get acclimated. Here are a few questions I have at this time...

Is it safe for Americans to walk about the city?

What are some of the better eating establishments in the G6 area?

The "Guest House" I will be staying at provides internet service. Is Facebook restricted?

Is it okay to take photos of landmarks while strolling through the city? Do the locals get upset if they are photographed?

I'm sure I will have more questions as my departure date nears. Thanks for any and all responses.
