cheap accomodations possible?

Hello everybody...next month I plan to visit pakistan for a month. I would like to stay in either Islamabad or rawalpindi. however, im a university student on a university student budget so i basicly need like dirt cheap accomodations. Would it be better for me to rent a studio for a month or stay in a hotel/hostel/guest house? Also any specific recomindations will be appriciated. Im not looking for any thing fancy since I plan to rarely be in the room. Thanx in advance
