Considering moving to Panama

Hello,

My girlfriend and I are U.S. residents and we are considering moving to Panama very soon. We are 26 and 29 and a nurse and an insurance professional. We are currently researching and our questions are many. Firstly, we heard that one cannot have a job that a local can do...is that true? Where is the best for two young women to live? Should we move then find jobs/a home or do it prior to leaving. Please help!
