We looked all over Panama and finally decided upon the Azuero. We did not want to settle into a "little U.S on foreign soil." Azuero was IT for us. There is a small and welcoming expat community, friendly and accepting local Panamanians, extraordinary views. Beaches, beaches, beaches! Living is laid back, plenty of wildlife, fishing is famous. We bought property and will retire there next year to develop the land (14 acres). We researched mountains, Bocas, Coronado, etc. and Azuero topped them all. Most communities have forums you can search; I suggest searching these to save leg work. We are delighted with our final choice. Feel free to contact us.
