Why we chose the Azuero: before the downturn in U.S. economy we contacted realtors throughout various new communities in Central Panama hoping to make appointments to view listings. We were told by EVERY realtor, "just drop by, if we are here we will show you what we have. . ." We were time constrained and needed to make each day count and the realtors in the Azuero were willing to accommodate our request. Also, this area is noted as the "Heartland of the real Panama". We were not interested in a "little U.S. community" but were willing to integrate into the established local one. All contacts were warm, friendly and welcoming. We have spent the past nine years overseas and understand the "fitting in" process and the joys of mingling. It's a new frontier and we welcome it. Our little piece of Paradise overlooks the Pacific, people are great and the fishing is superb! We are happy it turned out this way.
