Moving to PC - Surprises?

I am looking to have my company transfer me to our Panama City office. I have been to Panama City a few times and loved it. I'm a 28 year old, single female and speak Spanish fairly fluently. I was just hoping to get some advice from those of you that have made this move. Were there any surprise costs you encountered during the move or once you were in Panama?

My company will be taking care of my visa. After the research I have done I plan on buying a car there and will only be bringing a few suitcases of clothes..thankfully leaving my winter clothes here :).

Also as a surfer I plan on taking some road trips to explore Panama once I move there. To do so would I need a 4x4 car?
