The follow-on to the status of the Protesting Ngöbe-Buglé Indians in Chiriqui Province seems to be missing in this forum.

802Mark referenced the protest as a happening similar to a set in

vnazaire1 writes :
In the aftermath of the regrettable events that took place in Volcan (Chiriqui province), a few comments :
1) two murders were registered
2) the Volcan police station was burned as well as a pickup vehicle
3) a next door workers cafeteria was destroyed
4) public transportation by bus was interrupted for more than 24 hours

The Panama – guide.com (a website 802 Mark once referenced in one of his comments) confirms what vnazaire1 stated above plus much more and now reports:
In the province of Chiriqui, dozens of Indians remain on alert in more than seven fronts of struggle along the Pan American Highway, in San Lorenzo, Tolé, Remedios, San Félix, Volcán, Las Lomas and Boquete. The Indians warned they will continue their vigil and remain on high alert in support of the the Chieftain Silvia Carrera and the leaders of the Coordinator against Mining and Hydropower.

why isn't ths an ongoing topic?
