I have been Panama once and I truly love it and if I can get my wife on board (she loves it too in smaller doses) I would live there for about half the year and the other half back at the lake in Canada. I enjoy all the feedback in these sites and mostly because it is the reality that I seek. Prior to logging into this site I obtained most of my information from International Living however this magazine seems to paint a pie in the sky view of Panama. They would have me believing that I can live like a king on a fraction of my pension. I won`t have to touch my investments. I will be able to squirrel away my wife's pension and the Government pensions when they kick in. There is no doubt that life in Panama is cheaper than Canada but I also want to live comfortably. We think we are beach people but it appears most ex-pat live in the hills. We don`t have to be five minutes from everything and we would have no problem doing the occasional over nighter to the big city. I look forward to the dialog so dive in.
