moving to boquete

My wife and I have lived in C.R. for 8 months but are very ineterested in moving to and living in/ around the Boquete or El Valle area. Could someone please give common pros-cons of both, and, if possible, let me know if $3000.00 a month is enough to live comfortably? We do go out on occasion but like to do most of our own cooking. We're not very extravagant. We would like to rent a 2 bedroom house, furnished if possible.
