I have been checking on internet service for our new house in the mountains near Anton. One guy in Santiago said he could rent me a satellite dish that would enable slow internet (no youtube videos) for $285 a month. That sounds high to me. Is there any other alternatives? I tried the CLARO card and the service was horrible...not sufficient for my line of work. This sounds like an easy problem, but it is what keeps me TRAPPED in PC. Without internet service, I cannot work up there.
The other way to work would be to drive down to Penonome or Coronado each day and work from an office / internet cafe there.
Another alternative would be to work offline all day and then find a place to dump off work later in a internet friendly place.
Any technical solutions for getting fast, reliable internet in our mountain home?
