I have been exploring the move overseas and had honed in on Ecuador. Ecuador looked great until I read an ex pat blog yesterday detailing the rising crime (armed holdups, kidnappings, and rising revenge murder for hire incidents). This has me re-thinking the venues. What are your views comparing Ecuador to Panama for an ex-pat who is looking for value, quality, diversity (culture and weather), health care and travel access, and a lower crime rate? thanks in advance.
