Moving the Panama - Visa options?

My husband want to move to Panama in January 2013. We are trying to figure out the visa options. We've read about so many that have moved to Panama and would really like to hear how those that are not on a pension can stay for more than 3 months. We are 30 years old Canadians. We support ourselves teaching English online. So we have a Canadian income but it does not fall under the pension category. So what are our options?
