David International Airport

The remodeling in the Enrique Malek airport in the province of Chiriqui, in the city of David, by the company Riva S.A., will end November 31st. (which is unusual because that date does not exist.)

La Prensa has invented a new date on the calendar. I suppose it gives them an out........kind of like the First of Never.)

The David terminal, which handled 46.7% of all domestic passenger traffic in 2011, will have $ 27.4 million dollars invested for the expansion. Driving by you will see the big sign "INTERNATIONAL".

Panama’s Copa Airlines already have plans to establish direct flights to David.

Air Transat from Canada, who also have plans for flights to the David Airport, have the ability to accommodate planes with up to 228 passengers. Expect flights from Canada to originate in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary & Vancouver.

The airport should be operational in late 2013 or early 2014. Stay tuned.....
