I wasn't sure if I should add to my current posting or start a new one so I decided to do both. My wife and I just got back from our cruise through the Panama Canal. While the ship was docked in Panama City, we met with Jianella Torres from New World Real Estate, (yes she is a real estate agent...but she knew we were NOT looking to buy...we DID pay a modest fee for this tour but we feel it was well worth the price) She and her friend picked us up outside of Alberto's restaurant and took us on a tour of Panama City, all the while telling us about living in Panama and answering any question we could come up with. Jianella and her friend were both very knowledgable and friendly. We felt very safe during the drive through the city. And they were willing to take us where ever we wanted to go. For us, we feel that Jianella was a good way to go. Boy do you all have some traffic issues :-O And what a beautiful place!!!! We went all over Panama City. Out by the canal and the military bases, downtown to the hi-rises, to the east end of the city. Since we were only there for a day, we weren't able to get outside the city but after going through the canal and taking our city tour, we saw and heard enough to decide to follow through and we are now planning a trip down to Panama so we can rent a car and drive the country and check out the rest of the places that we have heard about. We will then follow through with liquidating our "stuff" up here and make the move to Panama!!! If anybody would like to get ahold of Jianella, let me know and I would've glad to provide her info.
