Update on Credit Unions and some banking

As most know American funds are frozen until next month in the Coaceces Credit Union (check spelling).
In June I attended all the remaining in David which told me no.
Cacsa was the only one that would allow me to open an account (min $1k)
they required 2 utility bills (from same location but they don't have to be in your name). Passport. They will ask your profession. 2 telephone references with names. They offer a savings at 2% year int. and a debit card for $16 year. I took it.

In June I will be applying for a bank account with a lawyer letter explaining my intent to gain residency there as a credit union cannot be used for this purpose, but they will still require 2 bank reference letters and all of the hoops the other banks now require. Banco Universal is the only one I know that will not need your tax return, but 3 references and utility bill, work letter, or proof of property ownership. If you or your corporation owns property and you can deposit 5k in the bank, you can come in under a special visa. When Martinelli leaves office this option is speculated to disappear.
If you opened your account prior to 2009, please stop telling Americans how easy it is to get an account. Capitol controls are different now.
