I have been reading your posts since Jan 2013. I find everyone so helpful and thank you for opening my eyes to several facts already forgotten.
I am Panamanian leaving abroad for more than 25 years and dreaming for the time that I could go back home. But....I know it will not be the same country I left. I have been traveling for the last 3 years back and forth to get an idea of where I would like to live. So far I have been unsuccesful and had a bad experience when buying a pre-construction apartment in the city. After reading all your posts I think that everybody that recommends renting is right on the money. Even as a Pana (as we called ourselves) it is difficult to decide where to go as the country is changing dramatically.
Just want to express my thanks to all of you that is extending a helping hand to all of us wanting to know what is really happening and what to expect.
My hat is off to all of you that took the decision to move to a country some of you with little or no knowledge of the language. I did it also when I was young and it was a very very difficult adjustment.
