Researching for retirement

I am finding very helpful info on this forum. Thanks to everyone who posts. I am a single 69 year old woman and will be in Panama searching for a place to retire. I feel sure that the David, Volcan, Boquete area is where I want to settle and would appreciate any suggestions I can get about how to get around while there. My flight will arrive at almost 10 P.M. and I want to fly from PC to David. I think I will have to spend the night in PC but don't know which hotels or B&B's are near the airport. I would like to settle somewhere that will not require me to own a car but am not sure that I can do any exploring the area without a vehicle? I am assuming that I can rent a vehicle in David if I need to? Suggestions of lodging would be much appreciated. I prefer B&Bs but am trying to be as economical as possible. I will be eternally grateful for any suggestions and info I can get.
