I'm always amazed at reading the posts on this forum about people "ready" or "seriously interested" in moving overseas, and especially to South or Central America.
Yes, I've been there and done that. Some really fantastic experiences, and some that were really bad. We all have our personal experiences...some good and some bad.
You MUST visit BEFORE you move! You must NOT buy before you're TOTALLY sure that you want to be there! You must NOT believe all the hype you read from "developers", or "web-sites" trying to promote the area for their own financial interests!
Above all, you must have a plan!
Start by making sure that you have a supplemental income!
There are a lot of ways to have fun and make money while living overseas!
One good one is: http://www.tripleclicks.com/13146494/ECA.
Check it out. You can buy and sell stuff all over the world and make a few hundred or a few thousand dollars every month depending on your level of interest and motivation.

My point? Be true to your "heart's desire". If moving to another country is right for YOU...do it! Just prepare yourself with a way to earn a decent living!
Best regards,
Gene
