FBI Background Check

Many moons ago when I did my background check, I only had to go to the state troopers office for a same day print out. Now the back ground checks are done by the FBI.

I've been asked a few times this past week for info on this. For those that may have had to do this ... I researched it on the web and came across a few websites that seem they would do the trick. But which is correct? Also, how long does it take?
I see on a couple of the sights, it states a $$ amount, then goes on to say not to include the paid return envelope any longer. Does this imply the return mailing of the transcript is included with the initial amount?
