Panama visit and questions

My husband, our dog and I are moving from Nicaragua to Panama by the end of January. Having lived in Nica means we are used to non-US-standard life.

We are looking for a rental on the beach, but haven't found a lot within our price range (300 - 600/month).

However, my husband works online, and it is very important that the internet connection is stable and fast. So here are my questions.. finally.

1) How stable is the internet connection? Are there frequent, long outages? Is it better in the big cities: should we change our beach dream to a city house (i.e. Azuero vs.David)?

2) My husband is coming for a short visit on 21st - 22nd of this month, are there any expats in Chitre, or should he just go to David?
