Driving up the azuera peninsula from PC

How far is the drive from Panama City to tonosi, and then from tonosi to david? We only have about 5 days to see the peninsula. We are traveling with our 3 year old son, is there somewhere cool for him to see on the way? He cannot sit in the car for too many hours at a time, so just wondering what sort of stop-offs there are along the way, or cool surfer beach towns. Any good food places also?
