It really isn't practical to live in Panama unless you learn simple living techniques. Argue with me if you want. Do what you want. I don't really care. But, what do I really mean? Because you are new here you need to listen to my advise. If you are renting a furnished house ask the owner what is your liability if someone comes in and cleans out the house? If he says he is responsable than get it in writing and use an attorney. Otherwize, don't rent the house. If you decide to rent an unfurnished house, buy rustic furnishings that don't cost so much. Find furniture makers that can make chairs and tables at prices you can afford and also that you can afford to lose when the first bandito decides to enter your home when you are a day trip. Dont feed the tiger. This is a different culture than in the US. We don't need to have expensive furnishings etc inside the house. However, if you don't travel much and hang around your home almost all the time you have less to worry about. Don't let strangers in to see what you have etc.
In the right place in Panama, you have very Little to worry about as long as you are in the house. I dont travel much so I don't have to worry so much. The worry's I have aren't so different than what I would have to worry about in Florida. The people here aren't about violence. They just want to take what they consider easy. And, they will. The less you have, the less you show, the less of a target you are. Thanx
