Scouting Boquete and Las Tablas for our move.

Hello.
Planning to move to Panama within next year, and hope to meet some 50-80 year young ex pats living in Boquete and Las Tablas. I have not been to Panama, but all of my reading has me focusing on these two areas.
I am thinking of a two week trip very soon, and would like recommendations on budget but clean and comfy lodging. This trip will be me (Mary) only, but planning the move with my husband (Paul). We both are 60 years young.
