Bocas rain

Hi,

My Panamanian wife (from David) and I (I'm American) live in the states and we visited Bocas over Christmas and loved it. I want to go back and stay much longer, perhaps retire there. My wife seems determined in warning me about the rain there. She says it rains a lot for most of the year and nothing dries out and I am overestimating the amount of sunny weather there based on our trip at Christmas. So I wanted to ask folks who actually live there. How much rain are we talking? Is it a couple hours a day separated by awesome sunniness the rest of the time? Or is it more like days of overcast skies and unrelenting rain for months? Can someone paint me a picture?
