DRINKING WATER

Hi, I am new to Expat Exchange. I have changed my mind on warm weather destinations and Panama is looking really good. I have a few questions: Drinking water - is it safe to drink from the tap? I know it's not in some South American countries. Health care - what is an average cost for a couple retirees with minimum health concerns? Renting or buying - which is best (I assume renting until you know exactly where you want to settle). Driver's Licence - do you need an international licence? Is car insurance expensive - what about purchasing a car (good used). What about phone, satellite TV, internet access? I have a whole lot more but will leave that for another day - I like being able to ask folks who already live in there
