David vs Boquete

I have been comparing rental homes in David to those in Boquete and the difference in price/quality seems remarkable. My only comparison so far is on Craigslist. Is this a supply and demand thing or could it be that the areas in David that I am seeing are less desirable? What should I expect to pay for a 2 BR house in each? Looking for something somewhat modern if possible. Perhaps 1200-1500 sq. ft.

Also is the climate that dramatically different between the two? We will be visiting for the first time in about 3 weeks with a future plan for retiring here if we like the area.
