Someone mentioned specialized health care - I wondered if they were talking about anything that needs specialists? Or specific ailments? I have heard of some people traveling back and forth from the US to get the medications they need. Or ordering three months at a time (which is probably what I will do) so that they always have their meds. I have specialized issues but I believe I will be fine in Panama City, there are a LOT of preferred Drs who are in my insurance coverage so I'm hopeful that they will be educated and able to treat me. Does anyone else have specialized illnesses that need unusual medications?
My other question has to do with pain medication, I read somewhere that you have to be in the hospital to get narcotic pain medication? And it can only be prescribed by an anesthesiologist. Does anyone know if that is the case and/or have you been able to get narcotic pain medication from a regular or pain management dr in panama? Thanks!
